Local & Offsite Backups
We are well aware of the risks posed by inadequate backup policies and the resulting loss and inconvenience. We provide a rigerous backup regime for your added peace of mind. Our approach is a 3 tiered one:
R1Soft Continuous Data Protection (CDP): Our shared hosting servers are backed up daily to an off-server storage device in the same datacentre. These restore points are kept for five days and allow us to not only restore client data instantly but also to do a bare-metal restore of the entire server in the case of an emergency. The R1Soft restore plugin is also available to clients via our cPanel management console.
Local cPanel Backups: We perform daily, weekly & monthly backups of all user accounts which are stored on the local server. These allow for instant restores and greater retention periods, meaning that we are able to restore your data from either the previous day, week or up to a month back.
Offsite Backups (incremental): Every night we send the modified data from our local cPanel backups to a secure storage server in the United States. Due to these being stored on a another continent, these backups can take considerably longer to restore but provide an additional layer of security & redundancy.
